My Book List

I've been really bad lately with logging my reads. I have both a Shelfari and a Goodreads account, but since the move from Maine back down to Massachusetts last year I have been listing the books like I should. This is probably in part to the fact that the move was only a partial one. A lot of our stuff is still in the house in Maine, a lot of my books included.

OFF TOPIC (just for a second): My daughter is going back and forth between both houses and in June will be going back for good. I'm going to miss her, but with school and stuff she wants to be there. For me I don't know where I want to be. I like being down here because I'm closer to my family, and there's more to do, but that also interuprts my writing. Being up there (there being northern Maine sitting practically on the Canadian border) it's calmer and less to think about so my writing is my main focus. Problem is there's not much work for hubby up there, which is why we're here. Done now back to topic at hand.

Back to my reading list. At one time I printed out some of the books I logged into Shelfari with the intent of listing them with Goodreads, but things got in the way and it didn't happen. I will try again in August, and hopefully get all my books listed in both places. This will prbably take me about a week. I have a lot of book. Not kidding! My husband has indulged my toying with the idea of opening a New/Used bookstore because I have so many.

You may think: Why August? That's so far away.
Two reasons. I'll be taking the month of August off. Well not off completely, but I plan on using the month to plat and restream a few ideas and see where they go. At the same time I will go up to Maine for a long visit and take the time to recatalog all the books I have up there. I bet somewhere well over a thousand books in total. then I'll take the time to list them all. Also I need to add all the ebooks I've been accumulating.

For now it's back to writing and putting off doing the dreaded TAXES. Later all.

Busy Month 2 New Releases More To Come.

Some of you may have noticed I've been a very busy girl lately. With the closure of one of my publishers I had three stories come back to me. I also had another I had been sitting on. I wasn't about to let these stories sit around and fester. So with a little time spent revamping I sent them back out into the world of submission (ooh sounds like a good title, saving that for later). Lucky for me my publisher Pink Petal Books has chosen to accept three of the titles.

Falling Hard and Fast was the first and released in February.

Suzie Ricker has been fighting her attraction to Tim Elknit for months. He’s constantly popping into the office where she works and watching her with those dreamy brown eyes of his, but she’s been able to resist his charms…so far. Then she runs into him in the market, knocking them both to the floor in a tangle of arms and legs. Embarrassed Suzie runs out of the store.
When Tim shows up at her house with her groceries, he’s determined to explore their mutual attraction. After all, he couldn’t mistake the way her body had reacted to his when they’d literally fallen for each other.
Suzie knows she’s falling hard and fast for Tim, but he’s the one worried about being left alone on this Valentine’s Day.

You can find it at Pink Petal Books, ARe, and Bookstrand. I'm happy to say it has already hit the mainstream best seller list at Bookstrand. You can see the list here.

8 Ways Onto The Naughty List is scheduled for release in April. And The Milllionaire's Fake Fiancee will be out some time in May. I'm really looking forward to getting these titles in the hads of readers.

Now if that wasn't enough I have more great news.
Uncommonly Brazen Book 4 in my Brazen Sister Series over at Siren Publishing came out March 2nd.

Josephine Brazen is the best CPA around, but even she may not be able to help Cameron Elwood out of the mess he’s in. Reluctantly, she takes him on as a client. Cameron pushes her buttons, driving her to distraction. He makes her want to do things she’s never considered before, and having her sisters not believe her when she tells them he’s just a client forces her to realize they might be right.

Joey is so organized she scares him, but Cameron knows she’s just what he needs. The more he’s around her,
the more he wants to get her to loosen up.
He hates that she keeps him at a distance
when all he wants is to get closer.
When people around town start talking about them,
he decides to play up that angle and see if she can still pretend the only thing between them is business.

What's next you may ask? Well I'm waiting to hear about a few things, but in the meantime I have a lot planned. I'm working on Book 2 in my What Are Friends For Series with Siren Publishing, and I'm also working Book 5 in the Brazen Sister Series.

Inspiration For My New Release.

Falling Hard and Fast is a fun light-hearted story. The idea for the story came about in a kind of weird way. You see my daughter has this cat named Zombie that plays an important part in this story.
His name of course has been changed to protect the innocent.

He's an adorable, but huge cat (Maine coon). Zombie has his issues. To start with he thinks he's the ruler of our little kingdom. Being the only male cat we have may be why. The whole house is his territory with no room or area off limits including my desk.

His biggest flaw is he's a total affection whore. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I'll give you just a couple of examples of what I'm talking about. When you're walking through the house he will run in front of you a lay down at your feet. This means pick me up. Preferrably right away.

If you standing still talking to someone and you wiggle your fingers in front of you chest he will launch himself up into your arms. Cool trick right? There is a down side though, because he does this at times when you're not ready and believe me those claws of his are sharp. There have also been times when people have turned their backs on him. Bad idea! If you're cooking he has a tendancy to grab onto your pants and try to climb up and see what you're doing.

New Year, New Goals

Most people start thinking of their goals for the New Year a few weeks in advance, but I chose to go another route. I wanted to wait and make sure I really wanted to stick to my goals. I wrote them down and hung them where I would be sure to see them every day. I was pretty surprised I didn't change any this year.

I put my gaoals into 2 catagories.

Writing                                                                Personal
1.) Write at least 3 novellas and 3 novels                    1.) Add more color to my wardrobe.
2.) Attend a local RWA chapter meeting                    2.) Spend more time with my husband
3.) Go to RWA nationals, NECRWA con, and AAD  3.) Lose at least twenty pounds.
4.) Be more outgoing at conventions I attend              4.) Show off my lame dance moves at conventions
5.) Be on a panel at convention                                  5.) Help husband make decision about where to live
                                                                                      (this may take a year)
6.) Spend entire year focused on writing goals            6.) Once a month do something just for myself.

Added to my gaols I have two white boards I list all my projects on. I wiped them clean and redid them. On one I listed my projects in the order I hope to hae them finished in. On the other I listed all my projects grouped by series and publisher. I realized two things. First I'm going to be pretty busy, second I really need to focus to reach my goals.

So has anyone else out there chosen any goals for this year? Are they attainable?
