My Desk Has Arrived!

Okay we ordered my new desk last Sunday and it showed up yesterday. Hubby chose to have it delivered so he didn't have to carry it up to the 3rd floor. Smart man.

I 'm really looking forward to being able to lock myself in and get some major wordage written.
My Husband is doing an awesome job helping me get everything ready.

However delivery guys must not have wanted to do it either , becuase they left the three big heavy boxes on the front porch. So hubby and 16 yr old had to lug it upstairs.

Anyway it's here. Yay!

This peice in the box is the hutch top.

Right now it's in peices spread around the room waiting to be assembled.

Hubby started to build it, but work called and he had to go.

It'll be done by Sunday no matter what, because my kids will be here Monday. Can't wait to see them.

So far has been a good week. Got lots of writing done.

Need to some food shopping before kids get here,
but looking forward to spending the week with them.

Busy Week Finally Came To An End

I'm going to start with the best thing that happened this week it was today. My hubby and I took a trip to Staples and ordered my desk. The chair was in stock so it's here

My niece and nephew slept over Saturday night. It was fun, but tiring.

This week had my reevaluating some things. Working part-time takes a big chunk out of my writing time. I worked on way more stuff last year than this year. I hate the feeling that
I'm slacking, because I know I'm not. of course no caffiene and barely any sugar to keep me going isn't helping.

Still I thought the money was worth it. Then they had us work 8:30am until 4:30 pm M-T-W on Thurs-Fri I was back on 2pm-6pm and my co-worker on her 10am-2pm. She seemed to like more hours, but for me it really made me think.

To be truthful that wasn't the only thing that pushed me to reconsider things. On Wednesday we found out big changes are coming down from the top. If there wasn't some major benefits to this job (health insurance not one of them) I'd debate quiting. Escpecially since I know things are only going to get worse over the next few weeks. For now I'm staying put, but don't hold me to it.

YAY! I Almost Have An Office.

Okay Hubby managed to squeee me in. The walls are finally painted. We went with sexy pink.

The rug has pink, an almost purple, and white in it. He even picked me up a file cabinet.

Now we just need to put the plug covers on, pick out some curtains, and a desk. Then I can hang my white boards and get my totes full of supplies unpacked. I'm really looking forward to decorating it just for me.

Big Happenings This Weekend

Friday night along with my husband and parents we drove the 8 1/2 hr up to Northern Maine for my daughter's college graduation. We left around 7:30pm and made few stops on the way, including one with flashing blue lights (headlight out), and got in around 4am. It was my parents first time visiting up there so I spent the ride pointing things out. Once we got there mom, dad, and hubby took a nap for a few hours, while I visited with my daughter and son. Then we had to be at the gymnasium at noon.

My daughter looked absolutely beautuful. The ceremony only lasted about 3 hours. Yes we all had sore butts from sitting on the bleachers, but the pictures I got was worth being a little uncomfortable.

Before leaving Maine I had to take my mother to Mardens. Of course I wasn't expecting the second encounter with blue lights on the way back to the house (speeding, just a touch). Luckily both times were just warnings.

Unfortunately my husband had to be back today for work, so we had to leave yesterday after noon. I wish we had more time to spend with the kids and show my parents around. We got in around 1am. Today has been a little off since I haven't had much sleep. Going to bed earlier than normal tonight.

My husband and I are so proud of our daughter. Almost as proud as my parents were. This is thier first grandchild to graduate from college. I know everyone is proud of thier kids when they accomplish something so wonderful, but for us it's extra special. Becky didn't take the traditional route in school. She really disliked high school so at her guidence counselors reccomendation she quit school at 16 and got her GED. She started college at 17 and has worked hard to schieve her goals. Working and going to school isn't easy, but she kept her eye on the goal and is now a Bachelor of Arts, English major/History minor.

I'd like to nudge her in the direction of getting her Masters, but she's thinking about Culinary School. Only time will tell.
