Authors After Dark Featured Author Interview: Carrie Clevenger

AAD Featured Author Interview: Carrie Clevenger

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Carrie Clevenger!

Is this your first year attending AAD?
Although the dark is my constant companion, this is my first year seeing authors after it.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I’d heard quite a bit about AAD from friends in the industry and it fits my scope of writing for the most part. I’m hoping to make new friends and am absolutely ecstatic that I already have readers making plans to come to see me.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
My current offering is the Crooked Fang series, with the book titles of Crooked Fang, Traitors and a special tie-in novella with my long-time co-writer and editor, Blood and Fire. I’d recommend readers start with Crooked Fang, although Traitors was written as a self-contained novella to the extent that one wouldn’t be completely baffled if they decided to start there.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
I wonder if I can get a good Mexican martini in North Carolina...Blue Moon beer, whiskey and cola, or Guinness.

Everyone loves the conference costumes. Can you give any hints about what to expect?
Seeing myself in the mirror today suggests that “cavewoman” might be the easiest option.

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I have Traitors and Crooked Fang postcards, but am looking at also handy-dandy fridge sticker-uppers (magnets) and quite possibly, ink pens. People do still use actual writing tools, yes?

We’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
Crooked Fang and Traitors, for certain. I hope to also have a few copies of Blood and Fire.

Where can readers find you?
Aside from Googling me like my family has, people seeking me out can find me fairly easily on the Twitters as @carrieclevenger, view and explore Crooked Fang as a separate (my precioush) universe at http://www.crookedfang.com/ and read stories from my archive of flash fiction/endure my occasional rants at http://www.carrieclevengerstories.com/
Fans of Crooked Fang can certainly go like the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CrookedFang
I also write purely erotic works as Annice Sands, though I’m still establishing that author path. Fledgling sites are @annicesands on Twitter and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/annicesandserotics

Authors After Dark Featured Author Interview: Becca Jameson

AAD Featured Author Interview: Becca Jameson

Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Becca Jameson!

Is this your first year attending AAD? Yes

What made you want to come to AAD? Sidney Bristol told me about it! You might know her...hehe.

Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about? Come. The first book in The Fight Club series. It’s a steaming hot, six-book series that features six guys who not only work out at the same gym as MMA fighters, but also belong to the same BDSM club.
Come-Becca_Jameson-500x800If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be? Come, which releases July 3 as e-book and will also quickly be available in print. In fact, I will have about 100 copies with me at AAD to give away at the luncheon held on Thursday!

Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD! I’ll be hosting a luncheon on Thursday with four other authors: Sasha White, Opal Carew, Bianca D’Arc, and Delilah Devlin.

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison? I’m a red wine gal!

SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing? Ooh! I have drawstring bags. They are purple! Come find me and make one of them yours! They say: Becca Jameson...where Alphas dominate… Since I’m both a wolf girl and a BDSM girl!
Where can readers find you? Beccajameson.com, @beccajameson, beccajameson4@aol.com

Authors After Dark Featured Author Interview: A.M. Griffin

AAD Featured Author Interview: A.M. Griffin

PictureWelcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author  A.M. Griffin!
Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yep! I’m a newbie. A very excited newbie. I’ve wanted to go for the past two years but could never find my way there.

What made you want to come to AAD?
I like the premise of a small conference where readers and authors can mingle and get to know each other. Large crowds overwhelm me (a reason why I’ve never been to RT), so AAD should be the perfect match for me.
So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
My room is for regrouping and sleeping so no parties there. I do have a tendency to hang out wherever there is liquor and food, LOL. I suspect anyone can find me wherever those things are going down.

Picture
Do you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Yes! The fourth book in my science fiction erotic series Loving Dangerously, Dangerously His released May 28th and my first young adult book, Against The Darkness released June 4th. I’m really excited about both. One, Dangerously His completed the story of JB, one of my favorite characters and the other, Against The Darkness, is my first dip into the YA pool.

If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
PictureDangerously Mine. It’s the first book in my science fiction erotica series, Loving Dangerously. While the books in the series are standalones, I’d like for the readers to read them in order so that they don’t inadvertently learn about any spoiler alerts. Dangerously Mine is a story about one woman’s trial at trying to find her way in a strange new world after hostile aliens invade Earth and deport her to another galaxy. Although it’s sci-fi, you don’t necessarily have to be a sci-fi fan to read this. There’s romance and hot sex to keep any reader satisfied.
What panels will you be on at AAD?
I’ll be on *gulp* three panels. Come check me out at the Science Fiction and Fantasy, Young Adult and Erotica panels. I’ll be giving away a signed print copy at each one!

If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Anything fruity where I can’t really taste the alcohol. I’m a lightweight.

Author's After Dark Featured Author: Julie Morgan

Today's AAD Featured Author Interview is Julie Morgan

Picture
Welcome Authors After Dark 2014 featured author Julie Morgan!
Is this your first year attending AAD?
Yes and I'm SUPER excited!!!!!
What made you want to come to AAD?
An opportunity to meet some of my readers, meet new readers and claim a face to those I talk to on a regular basis. I believe AAD is one of the better events around and cannot wait to see what happens!
So where will attendees be able to find you at AAD? Do you hang out in the bar? The lobby? Or are you the one who throws parties in their room?
I'm pretty much everywhere all the time lol! I'm one of the hosts for the Sins and Virtues party. You might find me sleeping at the Sloth table. Depending on the action of the event I could very well be found hanging out at the bar.
PictureDo you have a book coming out before AAD you want the attendees to know about?
Yes!!! I had one recently publish, book three in my Chronicles of the Fallen series, Atonement. Book four will be published just before the event. Culmination will be ready to go and readers will be able to pick up all four books in a set!
If you were to suggest one of your books to the AAD attendees, which book would it be?
That's hard to answer. Fallen introduces the readers into the series I've written, however, Atonement (book three) could be read as a stand alone... to a point. There would be character interaction that might be confusing, however. If I were to suggest one of my books, I believe it would be a toss up between Fallen and Atonement equally.
Tell us about the party you’re hosting at AAD!
I'll be hosting the Sins and Virtues party as Sloth! I hope to see my chairs filled up! I plan to have a great time with my readers and attendees, even if we're just sleeping! HAHA! I've also made a souvenir for the event just for the people at my table.
If an adoring fan wanted to buy you a drink at the bar, what’s your poison?
Vodka tonic!
Everyone loves the conference costumes. Can you give any hints about what to expect?
I'll have two different ones to sport! Let's just say Steampunk and Sloth!
SWAG. We all love SWAG! What cool stuff are you bringing?
I have a special gift just for the people at my Sloth table. I've made a gift just for them. I'll also have my book swag to support my series. HOT MEN and HUGE book marks!!! Oh and candy. Lots and lots of candy!
PictureWe’re all excited about the book signing. What books will you have on hand to sign and sell?
All four of my books in my Chronicles of the Fallen series! Fallen, Redemption, Atonement and Culmination
What did you want to be when you were younger? Real life and Make Believe? (I've actually been asked this before and had fun with it! Readers enjoyed it too)
When I was younger, my dream was to become a prosecuting attorney. I wanted to put the bad guys away. I started my first year of law school right out of high school and realized, then and there, this was NOT for me! I quickly changed majors and switched to Computer Science. I've been in the IT industry now going on 20 years. I love it... but love writing more!
As a young child, I wanted to be a mermaid when I grew up. I loved the thought of swimming under the sea (no Arial theme included here). To think of swimming with dolphins, whales and even sharks... it was completely mesmerizing to me! I might have a story here soon based on mermaids/sirens!
What is your favorite sports team?
By far for football, Dallas Cowboys! I'm originally from Texas and grew up watching them and the Texas Rangers! I wish we could bring back Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Bobby Valentine and Nolan Ryan to the games.
Is there anything about yourself you'd like to share that your readers may not know or realize?
Sure. I used to be a trained dancer. I took ballroom dance lessons to the bronze level championship. I loved EVERY moment of it! Unfortunately, it has ruined me for any type of dance competition now. I find myself to be VERY critical while watching performances. Then again, I've been known to let loose and cut a rug for the fun of it and have a great time!
On a side note, I'm a HUGE supporter and advocate for Autism research. You'll find me at events, offering support services and donating my time to the charity. Once you see life through the eyes of an autistic child (or adult) you will never see things the same way again.
